Paraphrasing Exercise 1

While the sun brings heat to the earth, the Antarctic has its function to cool it. It has great impact on the climate of this planet. The upwelings created by the mixed cold water of Antarctic and warm water from the tropics make the surface water and atmosphere cool. But now the activities of human is damaging this weak "regulating system" now. (Cousteau, 1990)
