My Weird NAIT Experience 2

Before I applied to drop the future assessment test on Nov 26, all of my 3 tests' marks were OK. After that, I check them on the computer and found 2 tests that I had took were canceled. So I called the Office of Registrar, one lady said staff would fix them in 2 days. But on Nov 28, they did not fix them. So I went to the office, and after one receptionist listened my explaination, she said that she could not register the test on Nov 29 because it had been full. I knew she misunderstood me, and I tried to explian that I did not want to take assessment test any more because I had passed all the sections of the test, and I only want to get my canceled test results. But the lady was not patient to hear my explaination, and threw my studen ID to the next receptionist and let her to deal with it. I had to turn to the next receptionist and explained my situation again. The new receptionist was patient and nice, and fortunately, she understood me and she found the mistake that they had made. She left her seat and went inside office maybe for other help. Finally, she said to me the mistake had been fixed. I left the office of registrar and went to the library to check the result on computer, but I found that one test was fixed and the another one still was in the status of cancellation. I had to went back to office again, and met the fist lady again. I explained the problem, but she still was not patient and asked the second lady to see me. I said the fact, and she said it was Ok and I did not warry about it, if I still found it was wrong, I should went back the office on Mondy, Dec 1. I am a computer specialist, and I know the data will be shown immediately after modifing. So, to wait to Monday was a white lie. But I had no options, and I had to wait.

As my thought, the another test is still in the status of cacellation up to day. This test will not influence my application of the full-time program because I did not pass the listening part in this test (I passed three parts except listening in the first test, and I passed the listening section only in the third test that has been recovered). Only regret is that I got 90% in the reading of that test, which is my highest score in all the sections of all my assessment tests.

Should I ask office of registrar to restore the test for me?

Thank you Lei.

If I want to go nuts, I should call them or go into the office again.

My old professor had very good advice for me when I was dealing with people in the academic office at the University of Alberta. She said, "Be polite. Be polite often."

Insist on explaining it though it is their fault. At the same time, you get a good chance to practise your speaking!
