The Art Walk

Did you go to the Whyte Ave ArtWalk?

I was there for 3 days. On the Friday it poured with rain, not just once but three times. All my clothes and stuff got very wet, but my artwork was in a big plastic box, so it was safe! On the Saturday and Sunday it threatened rain a couple of times, but it was actually quite lovely weather. I sold some paintings, prints and postcards (enough to make back my costs) and had fun talking to people and trying some new art styles.

It was an experiment that is definitely worth repeating, I think.

My embarrassted moment

Have you ever got a embarrassion with English? Yes I have it that was a big embarrassment for me.I have been living Edmonton for almost three years since my family immigrated to land here. At previous one month,we rented a very old house for short- lived in. the house's owner who is nice lady is working at government of Alberta.I was no idea to communicate with her because my English was so poorly.I only knew words are YES,NO,HUSBAND and DAUGHTHER anything liked that. Usually when I had something musted to talk with her,my daughther could have translated for me.One day,my husband with my daughther went to medical clinic to see doctor,I was abandoned in the basement to sleep.the houes owner Raney went to visit her friend, she opened the hous security alarm befor she left because she didn't know I was in the home.A few minutes later,I just woke up and moved little suddenlly the alarm went rang on and on.I was so scared and terrified, after few minutes later, three police cars and three strong police man with their weapon and came. Can you imagine that, under the circumstance I only had shaken and shaken. So this is why I still sit in the English class nowadays.

Where is my summer?

I'm officially annoyed.

Where is summer? I want some warm weather. It's bad enough that I live in a place that has temperatures below freezing for at least half the year without having to endure chilly summers as well.

The final straw, however, is that the air conditioning in this place seems to have been set to stun. I have to take a sweater to work so that I don't freeze. I'm cold all year round and it is starting to get on my nerves.

I think I will start a petition for businesses to help to save the environment by raising the temperature of their air conditioning during summer. By setting thermostats a few degrees higher, they would use less electricity and would save money, as well as feeling that they were helping to cut their carbon footprint (or whatever the current buzzword is).

GlobalOil Prices Increa se

There has been steady increase in the price of gasoline recently. What is driving the increase of gasoline price and how it will effect the lives the people ho drive cars and those who do not dive at all? The price of gasoline reached over $1.40 per litter in Canada this summer.
Some people believe in that there is in balance between the demand and supply of oil around the world. Because countries such as China and India are consuming more gasoline than before and demanding it. In the meantime, supply of oil remains the same and did not increase.
Others say that global geopolitics is what is causing the oil crises that we are facing nowadays. For instance, contraries such is Iran and Nigeria which are part of the OPEC cartel are not contributing the oil production for political reasons, and thus affects the oil prices around the world.
What ever the reason might be, the increase of the price of gasoline had effected people in different ways. For example, there has been global food shortage and food price increase. Because farmers rely on gasoline for their crop production; therefore there is direct correlation between the price of the gasoline, and the price of the food that we buy from the market. Also
people who don,t farm but drive cars especially pig trucks, and SUVs have felt it from their pockets.
Solution would be if we could produce reliable alternative energy that replaces gasoline, or if the automobile companies could produce gas efficient cars that consume less gasoline.

Albshir, Wanted!!

It has been obviousely noticed that all the world dectetors were tourchering, killing and vialating human rights without any one to just them; this included all the "unelected" presidents who took over the state by force and are ruling by Marshal Law. The result is all these kinds of pooor, displaced , refugees, emigrant, and immigrants. Not only that ,but also wars andvmillions of dead people all around the world. Omer Albashir, the Janjaweed creator, was revealed as suspected to commit ethnic cleanization and war crimes. Questions may raise as: Who is Albashir? What the hell he did to be wanted?how he is dealing to avoid being arrested by UN or the International Criminal Court? What will be his fade?

The world has become more globelized, and what ever you do secretly against the exist of human it will be revealed. Since the conflict of Darfur has started in 2002, between the black darfurian rebels and the government, the government has stablished the Janjaweed militia and given it a big role to resist and stop the rebels. Since then, the civilliand have been severely killed by the Janjaweed or the governmental army. A new trend has arised, fighting by killing the civillians, raping, burning villages, and poisoning water resources. this policy was taken against the rebels by targeting the civillians in order to break the rebels. The result was more severe; more than 300,000 killed, thousands of women and young girls were raped, water resources were destroyed, and more than 5 millions were displaced.

The international community has found that it was unbearable and something should be done to protect civillians. Morris Okambo was deligated by the UN to investigate. His report says that Albashir has directly killed 35,000 and indirectly caused the death of 100,000 civillians in Darfur.................................................................................to be continued.

Sports Evolution Two

I consider sports the ones that involve with physical activities such as running, jumping, swimming, and playing ball. How ever, there are things that some people call sports that I hardly understand why they are called sports. Let me give you few examples, car racing, chess game, and gambling. All these so called sports that I have mentioned have no physical activities what so ever, and are still considered as a sports activities by some people!.

May be these people are competting to win for one thing as the real sports people are competting for their sports. So, both share the competition as a base for their different sports. If we consider competition as the only factor that determine, and makes something sports worthy, then we should know that life is full of competting events. Now, could we call business as sports game, because business people and compenies compete with each other for their business to earn more profit and customers?.
